James Brown

POSITION: Anchor

James Brown is the host of CBS Television Network's NFL pre-game show, THE NFL TODAY. He also serves as a play-by-play announcer for CBS' coverage of college basketball, and called the action during the 2006 NCAA tournament.

Brown started his career at CBS Sports as play-by-play announcer for the network's NFL and college basketball coverage, as a reporter for the NBA Finals and host for a daily show at the 1992 and '94 Winter Olympics. The Harvard graduate joined Fox Sports in 1994 and served as host of "FOX NFL Sunday" for 12 years prior to returning to CBS Sports.

Brown, who has won three Emmy® Awards and has been named Sportscaster of the Year, hosts national daily commentaries entitled "Hang Time with James Brown" on Sporting News Radio.

Brown's first book, Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living, hit bookstores across the country in Sept. 2009. In his memoir Brown relays how he found the role he was meant to play, highlighting both the good and bad decisions he made along the way, teaching readers how to discover life’s purpose for themselves.

Phil Simms

POSITION: Analyst

Super Bowl XXI MVP and 15-year NFL veteran Phil Simms has made a seamless transition from All-Pro quarterback playing for the New York Giants to versatile announcer in the broadcast booth.

In 1998, Simms joined CBS Sports as lead analyst alongside Jim Nantz for the network's coverage of the NFL. Simms, who previously teamed with Greg Gumbel for six seasons (1998-2003), called Super Bowl XXXV in 2001, Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 and Super Bowl XLI in 2007 for CBS.

Prior to joining CBS Sports, Simms served as a game analyst on NBC's top broadcast team, where he called Super Bowls XXX and XXXII, announced weightlifting events for NBC Sports' coverage of the 1996 Olympic Summer Games, served as a sideline reporter on "The NBA on NBC," and worked on the "NFL Quarterback Challenge" and "Run to Daylight." He also served as a studio analyst for ESPN.

Cris Collinsworth

POSITION: Analyst

A pro-bowl performer on the field and off, Cris Collinsworth enjoyed a sensational NFL career as a wide receiver prior to making a smooth transition to sports broadcasting. The three-time Pro-Bowler with the Cincinnati Bengals has earned 10 Emmy® Awards for his work as a sports broadcaster, including a record eight for Outstanding Sports Studio Analyst and the 2008 award for Outstanding Live Event Analyst.

Collinsworth co-hosted "Inside the NFL" from 1989 through the end of the 2007 NFL season. Additionally, he joined NBC Sports in 1990 as in-game analyst for the network's NFL coverage, select college football broadcasts. In 2009, Collinsworth was named lead game analyst for NBC Sports, replacing John Madden. He will partner with Al Michaels on the Sunday Night Football broadcasts. Stepping outside of the football world, Collinsworth served as a sports reporter for the 1996 and 2008 Olympic Summer Games.

The former wide receiver also was a member of the FOX Sports NFL broadcast team before returning to NBC Sports in 2006 as a studio analyst and co-host of "Sunday Night Football," where he will continue for his third season in 2008.

Warren Sapp

POSITION: Analyst

One of the best defensive linemen in NFL history, Warren Sapp has been intimidating opposing quarterbacks and lineman since he put pads on for the first time. A seven-time Pro Bowler, Sapp's 96.5 career sacks are the second-highest for a defensive tackle.

In 2002, Sapp led the Buccaneers and the NFL's top defensive team to the NFC South Title with the best record in team history (12-4). The Bucs went on to defeat the Oakland Raiders, the nation's top offensive team, 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII.

The 1999 Defensive Player of the Year and member of the NFL All Decade Team, Sapp was a standout at the University of Miami, where he was named the nation's best defensive player one year. The charismatic and gregarious Sapp previously served as a guest analyst on CBS Sports' NFL pre-game show, THE NFL TODAY. INSIDE THE NFL is his first full-time job as a studio analyst.
